To My Dearest Husband

Our Life

I looked into the mirror trying to take in the day. I was only going to be a bride for one day. This day. I didn’t want to forget. As I waited for my dad to come get me out of the bridal suite, I took in the full picture of me in my dress. I felt so beautiful in that moment. I’ll never forget the moment that I finally felt like a bride. His bride. And that’s what I would be for the rest of my life.

And that’s what I would be for the rest of my life.

To my dearest husband. My best friend. I love you. More than I did 2 years ago when I said “I do.” On that day we promised to love like Christ loves. And we’ve had to keep short accounts and give endless do overs. We promised to laugh when it’s hard and never say “it will be okay.” Because sometimes you just have to say, “It will be the way it’s going to be.”

Brandon, thank you for being my forever teammate. My card game partner. You never stop trying to surprise me and you always push me to be creative. You always support me when I dream too big (is that even a thing?) You love my little quirks and oddities i.e. knitting other grandma activities. Life is really sweet by your side. I can’t wait to start traditions, grow old and saggy, and leave a legacy with you.

Here are some of my favorites from that day 2 years ago when I walked toward you down the isle in that beautiful chapel at The Brooks at Weatherford. All photos by Payge Stevens Photography!
