I want to start by saying that we are living in crazy times. Last week, I received a text from an unknown number. That text came from a sweet bride named Emily. I felt heartbroken for her as she shared her story with me. Their wedding in Austin had to be postponed due to the virus spreading across our country. Emily and Chris got engaged at the Fort Worth Water Gardens, so they decided to gather with just their families to say their vows as husband and wife in the same place!
When I arrived, I immediately noticed that Emily didn’t have a bridal bouquet. Going through a few ideas, like calling Brandon to swing by Trader Joe’s for some flowers, a lightbulb went off. I remembered seeing a friend of ours post something about delivering flowers to her own brides to spread the joy in this time filled with uncertainty.
I quickly texted her, praying that she was nearby. She picked up the phone and called me immediately! She was about 10 minutes from us, and told me she could bring Emily a bouquet! Honestly, I felt like I was witnessing an actual everyday miracle. Where kindness compounds kindness! Ashlee came running toward me with this beautiful bouquet, with a huge grin! After a quick hug, I turned around and surprised Emily because every bride deserves beautiful flowers on the day they get married! In the midst of a world full of fear, confusion, and doubt, acts of kindness like these are what will help us move forward in the coming weeks.
Emily & Chris, thank you for letting me be a part of such a sweet day. I know your wedding later this year will be beautiful, as you celebrate your first few months as husband and wife. Thank you for trusting a complete stranger to capture this moment! I wish you all the happiness in the world!
